Product Description

 

   The SAI-1620m analog input module provides sixteen safety-rated inputs (0–4 V) plus one external-voltage read-back channel (0–4 V).
All sixteen inputs meet SIL 3 / IEC 61508 requirements and share a single, galvanically-isolated 0 V reference.

Field signals must be scaled to 0–4 V before reaching the module.
   Two conversion options are available:

       1. Use a field termination assembly-TSAI-1620m, TSHART-1620m, TSGAS-1624 or TSFIRE-1624.

       2. Plug an analog conversion card, BSAI-1620mE, into the programming connector (P.) on the rear of the I/O backplane inside the 19-inch chassis.

   Direct connection of thermocouples, PT-100 or other non-current sensors is not supported; they must first be converted to 0(4)–20 mA by a suitable transmitter, then routed through either a TSAI-1620m or BSAI-1620mE module.
