Removal and Insertion
Remove field power-either at the device terminals or by switching off the bussed field-power feed-before inserting or withdrawing the unit.
The module may be hot-swapped while system power is ON only under these conditions:
– A maximum of one unit is removed or inserted at a time.
– The rack is powered by a KJ1501x1-BC1 dual DC-DC supply running on 12 Vdc or 24 Vdc.
– Total inductance on the input-power leads (including wiring) is below 23 µH, or a certified supply is used whose open-circuit voltage Ui ≤ 12.6 Vdc and Lo ≤ 23 µH.
A rotary keying system guarantees that, after installation, only a compatible I/O card can mate with its terminal block; set the keys to match the card before locking the assembly.
Never pull the terminal-block fuse while field power is applied, even for circuits classified as non-sparking.
